Rourketown Studios is owned and operated by Jeff O'Rourke.
Jeff began playing guitar at the age of twelve, idolizing guitar heroes like Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhodes and Jimmy Hendrix to name a few. At 14 he discovered punk music and became a part of the Milwaukee punk scene. Soon, his record collection consisted of Artists such as The Clash, The Descendents and T.S.O.L. along with countless other underground groups. During this time Jeff performed with two original bands (NRK, Earthshoe) and was fortunate to share the stage with regional artists such as Die Kreuzen, Big Black (Steve Albini) and Naked Raygun. At 15 Jeff built a small recording studio at his home with the help of his family and recorded and produced many of the alternative bands in the Milwaukee area during that time. |
By 1994 Jeff had moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he joined the local Trip Hop phenomenon Phunk Junkeez. The Phunk Junkeez soon signed with Trauma/Interscope Records after a brief stint with Ichiban Records out of Atlanta, Georgia. The Phunk Junkeez consisted of 6 members, 2 of which were accomplished DJ's with roots in Old School Rap, Hip Hop, R&B, as well as the influence of the remaining members' appetite for punk, funk and rock n' roll, Jeff was exposed to a whole new world of music and influences.

The Phunk Junkeez went on to sell over 300,000 albums and are credited for paving the way of the "Rap-Rock" movement that preceded bands like Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock. |
| Around 2001 Jeff began to settle in the Los Angeles area where he built Rourketown Studios. Since then he has recorded and produced many diverse artists (Eyes Set to Kill, K-Tel Disco, Hed Pe, Bob Baxter). The studio has also been a favorite of producers such as Rob Chiarelli (Will Smith, Madonna), Edward Wohl, (El Nino, Anthrax), and mixers like Paul Lani (Robbi Williams, David Bowie) and Thom Flowers (The Ataris, Eyes Set To Kill). |
| Jeff is a graduate of New York University's TISCH School of the Arts and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Film Production. Jeff is a seasoned Pro-Tools Editor, has over 20 years of Studio Engineering, 15 years of MIDI and Sequencer Programming experience (AKAI, Roland, Alesis) and can still light up the studio with some serious guitar skills. |
